Investing in women's health
Women's health runs far wider than reproductive care. Because medicine has historically been researched on male bodies, conditions from cardiovascular disease to autoimmune disorders and pain are routinely misdiagnosed or missed in women – heart attacks are a stark example, dismissed or mistaken because women's symptoms differ. From menstrual and reproductive health to menopause, and across the whole of the body, this is a vast, growing market that has been systematically under-researched and under-funded. In 2023 The Economist declared menopause had “gone mainstream”, a classic sign of a taboo shifting from the edge to the centre.
What we look for
Evidence-led businesses closing a research or care gap that medicine has left open for too long – in diagnostics, therapeutics, devices, or the care and data infrastructure around them. We're drawn to founders who understand both the science and the stigma they're up against, who can turn an under-served need into rigorous, defensible product, and who see the size of the market clearly where others still treat women's health as niche. Real outcomes, real demand, and a wedge that widens over time.
