Recovery has quietly become a real product category. Stigma is what still keeps serious builders, and serious capital, out.
Addiction touches an enormous share of families, yet the tools to treat and manage it have lagged. We are starting to discuss this more freely, but it still feels academic. The lived experience is still so full of shame and stigma.
We're happy to see organisations like Innovate UK commit funds to this category; a signal for us all to start taking this more seriously. It's estimated that there is a social return on investment of up to £26 for every £1 spent over a 10-year period.
What we look for
Evidence-based, clinically grounded businesses treating recovery as durable infrastructure, not willpower apps, but real tools with real outcomes and defensible methods.
